Thanks For Stopping By!

I’ve been contemplating the idea of blogging for several years now. My hesitations have always been:

• Will i be able to come up with stuff to write about?
• Will I have time to write this stuff?
• Will anyone read it?

Well, the time has come to stop making excuses. I figure the only way to find out the answers to these questions is to actually jump in and try it.

I often find myself in situations such as being asked questions by colleagues, discussing ideas at a user group meeting or trying to solve the worlds problems while drinking with friends on a patio. I’m hoping that this blog will provide a nice venue for me to further flesh out some of these ideas and allow for some intelligent discussion with others.

Also, putting ideas down in print will help me to further reinforce the material in my head. And hopefully, from the comments I will be exposed to different viewpoints that I may not have thought of otherwise. And if nothing else it will act as a nice reference when I need to look up something several months later.

I’m passionate about a lot of things but for now at least the majority of the content here will be of a technical nature. I’m a big fan of agile methodologies so expect some of that. I also love learning new programming languages so there’s a good chance I’ll post some of my lessons learned from that. And I love to read so expect some book reviews as well.

I”m not sure where this journey will take us but hopefully by the end of it we have all learned something.
